01 · What we track

Not a trial, not a teaser - the whole thing, for everyone, at no cost. Here's what that promise means.

The old way

Your history paid the bills

Most trackers are free because your data is the product. When the growth stops, the app disappears - and years of your logs go with it.

Everything, unlocked

Your whole library, your progress, the full dashboard and real-time sync - no card, no expiry.

No tiers, no upsell

No locked feature, no "pro" badge to buy. What one person gets, everyone gets.

Free as it grows

New features ship free too, and exporting everything you've tracked is always free.

Bring your whole history

One-click imports from other trackers and spreadsheets. Every episode, rating and rewatch comes across.

Fast on every device

Log a title in two taps and it syncs in real time across web, phone and tablet.

Privacy by design

Private by default, no third-party trackers, and exporting is always free.

06 · FAQ

Questions,answered.

Still curious about something? Open the app and start tracking - free to use, forever, no card, no commitment.

  • Movies, TV series, video games and books - all in one catalog. Log what you've finished, what you're in the middle of, and what you want to get to, with progress tracked down to the episode, chapter, page or hours played.

  • Yes - Catalogie is free to use, forever. Every feature is unlocked for everyone, with no credit card, no trial clock and no expiry. There is nothing to buy and nothing locked behind a higher tier.

  • There isn't one. Catalogie is independent, and we don't sell your data - your catalog is yours, private by default, and exporting everything you've tracked is free. The whole app is free to use, forever.

  • The first 1,000 people to sign up become Founding Members: a permanent "Founding Member" badge and profile title, a place in the founding list kept for the life of Catalogie, the earliest access to everything new we ship, founder-only dev diaries, and a direct line into the roadmap.

  • Yes. One-click import brings in your existing film diary, game backlog, reading list and watch history from popular trackers and spreadsheets, so you're not starting from scratch.

  • Completely. Your catalog is private by default. You choose exactly what to share - a single list, a public profile, or nothing at all - down to the individual title. We never sell your data.

  • Only the basics Google needs to identify you: your email address, name and profile picture. That is the entire request - Catalogie asks for no access to Gmail, Drive, Calendar, Contacts or any other Google service, and never posts anything to your account. Signing in with Google is optional; you can always use an email and password instead.

  • Catalogie runs in any modern browser and syncs in real time across desktop, tablet and phone. Log something on the couch and it's on your laptop instantly.

  • The web app is live right now and you can install it on your phone today - open it in your mobile browser and choose "Add to Home Screen" for a full-screen, app-like experience. Native iOS and Android apps are coming in the near future with the same catalog and account.

  • Absolutely - that's how the roadmap gets built. Email support@catalogie.com with what you need and it goes straight onto the list. Founding Members get a direct line into what we build next.

Releasev1.2.025 July 2026

Books from readers, sharper ratings, dozens of new badges

The biggest update since launch. If a book is missing from the catalogue you can now add it yourself - describe it once, and after a quick check it becomes a real entry everyone can use, with a note back to you when yours goes in. Ratings have been rebuilt around the way people actually think about scores: choose 5 stars with halves or a 10-point scale, separately for TV, movies, games and books, rate individual episodes, and see what the Catalogie community made of something right next to its IMDb score. On top of that: more than 35 milestone badges to work through, a rebuilt Yearly Wraps page, a dashboard that closes up its own gaps, and a TV tab that finally tells the difference between a show you have finished and one that is only between seasons.

  • Add a book the catalogue does not have - describe it once and it becomes a shared entry for everyone once we have checked it, and you are told when yours goes in
  • Rate your way: 5 stars with halves or a 10-point scale, set separately for TV, movies, games and books, with the Catalogie community average shown alongside IMDb
  • Rate individual episodes, each with its own IMDb score on the still
  • Milestone badges grew from 6 to more than 35, in tiers you can work through, and Yearly Wraps was rebuilt: pick any year, see your top genres ranked and both your longest and current streaks
  • A series that is still airing is no longer filed away as finished - it now sits under "More episodes coming" instead of alongside shows that ended years ago
  • Fixed: clearing a rating failed every time, follower counts stopped counting at 200, and the bottom bar could go missing in the installed app
  • Closed a privacy gap where the follower and following lists of a private profile could be read by anyone, and hardened the tools we use to run the service
Patchv1.1.317 July 2026

A faster library, clearer messages and performance improvements

A patch built almost entirely out of things that were quietly wrong. Logging a game session with tomorrow's date could take your whole dashboard down with it - that is fixed, and nothing can be marked watched, played or read before it is out. Your library and your follower count now keep themselves up to date as you move around the app, so a change you make on your phone shows up on your laptop without a reload. Movies finally show when you watched them: those dates were recorded all along, going back years, and the list simply never showed them. Everything is quicker, too - posters load as you scroll instead of all at once, the library sends about half the data it used to, and book pages come back faster and far more reliably.

  • Fixed a bug where a game session logged with a future date could take your entire dashboard down
  • Nothing can be marked watched, played or read before it is out - and when Catalogie refuses something, or a service it relies on is having trouble, it now says why instead of shrugging
  • Your library and follower count refresh as you use the app - no more reloading to see a change you made on another device
  • Movies now show when you watched them, going back to the very first one you logged
  • Faster all round: posters load as you scroll, the library sends about half the data, and book pages come back quicker and far more reliably
Patchv1.1.216 June 2026

A clearer sign-in, steadier rendering and these diaries

A patch focused on getting people in - and back out - cleanly. The sign-in and create-account screens now state the Terms and Privacy Policy you agree to, link both, and add a copyright line and a prominent "Back to home" button, so signing in is transparent and never a dead end. We also closed a rendering bug where slow or blocked web fonts could briefly scramble a page - fonts are now self-hosted from our own domain - and shipped the standalone Dev Diaries page you're reading.

  • Sign-in and create-account now state the Terms and Privacy Policy you agree to, with both linked and a copyright line
  • A prominent "Back to home" button on the auth screens - the login page is no longer a dead end
  • Fixed a bug where slow or blocked web fonts could briefly scramble a page - fonts are now self-hosted from our own domain
  • Shipped this standalone Dev Diaries page, with Terms and Privacy links in the homepage footer
Patchv1.1.115 June 2026

Sign-up safety, a friendlier date picker and polish

A reliability, polish and hardening patch gathering everything shipped since v1.1.0. We closed a sign-up bug that could lock people out of their own account, added a fail-safe for missing verification emails, shipped a friendlier date picker, refined profiles, finished the rename to Catalogie, and made the app more crawlable - with mobile fixes throughout.

  • Fixed a sign-up bug that could permanently lock someone out of their own account
  • Unverified sign-ins now auto-resend a fresh verification email if one goes missing
  • A new date picker for logging watch dates - jump by month or year
  • Profile activity heatmaps now open on your most recent week, not January
  • Made the app readable to search engines and hardened it against false flags
  • Tightened test coverage and CI so regressions get caught before release
Releasev1.1.014 June 2026

Following, notifications and a faster library

Our first feature drop after launch makes Catalogie social. Follow other people, keep a profile that is yours to share down to a single title, and get a quiet nudge when it matters - all on top of a library that now loads noticeably faster.

  • Follow people and shape a public profile you control
  • Comments and reactions on the titles you track
  • Opt-in push notifications when someone follows you
  • Founding Member badges for the first 1,000 accounts
  • Faster library loads and a stack of launch-week fixes
Launchv1.0.013 June 2026
